CNS, established in 1980, is an industry-leading provider of postacute, community-based brain injury rehabilitation. Our Bakersfield clinic is a state-of-the-art facility and was the company’s first location. It features a modern architectural design and utilizes new therapeutic equipment and advanced technology. Patients will focus on multidisciplinary, goal-oriented therapies in a safe and secure environment with our highly-trained clinical and administrative staff offering renowned treatment. The facility features beautiful, top-of-the-line amenities and the building has been recognized for its positive environmental impact, as its solar design conserves energy usage. This area’s strong sense of community is an ideal environment for patients to reintegrate with the community and to practice skills needed for independent living.
Treating all types of acquired and traumatic brain injury
Programs offered: Adult Postacute Inpatient Rehabilitation, Adult Postacute Day Treatment, Adolescent Program, Continued Care and Telerehabilitation
Services offered: nursing, disease management, family-oriented education; community reentry assistance, home evaluations, medical coordination, case management, patient education classes
State-of-the-Art Rehabilitation: Therapy Pool; ZeroG Gait and Balance System, for balance and gait improvement; a mobile interactive metronome; Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS), utilized to address visual, cognitive, and motor deficits; Independent Living Scale tracking system to monitor patient progress; SAS Integrated Patient Data System; tablets to record/integrate patient data in real time for analysis; patient web portal for 24/7 secure access; a dedicated physician space including a medical exam room, secure medication room, and a nursing suite; a meditation/quiet room; patient and staff kitchen; computer center, and offices for case management and administrative functions
Our inpatient program is an essential component of brain injury rehabilitation, providing a consistent, ADA-compliant home environment for patients to relearn Activities of Daily Living. Patients will build skills that support independent living and productivity post injury, with clinically trained CNS staff present 24/7. Each residence is equipped with safety features, including security cameras, safely locked medication drawers, private rooms, and CNS vans to transfer patients to and from clinical treatment. Residences are located in safe, beautiful neighborhoods close to the clinic and to grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. In our community-based residential setting, patients will re-establish social skills and focus on community reintegration by taking part in group activities and outings.
