Steve Ashley House

This peaceful retreat for visiting patient families is an homage to CNS' first patient, Steve Ashley, who was the brother of CNS founder and Executive Chairman of the Board Dr. Mark Ashley. Steve’s devastating brain injury at age 21 left him helpless and dependent on others for care. His journey inspired Dr. Ashley to create a residence that would enable families to visit patients throughout the rehabilitation process. Steve Ashley House thus became a model for the CNS philosophy and practice, offering an environment of coordinated therapy and community inclusion. The residence was created to provide short-term lodging for family members of residential patients at CNS who are limited by distance and resources in the Dallas area. The residence is a temporary home away from home, and in an effort to have as many rooms available for families in need, room occupancy is limited to 10 days upon initial patient admittance. For additional visits, contact your case manager to reserve a room, availability may be limited. A list of local accommodations can also be provided for extended stays—contact the reception desk for more information.

Each suite has two bedrooms and is limited to two people per room. Guests will likely share the common areas of the unit with another CNS patient’s family member. For privacy, individual access code locks are provided on all bedroom doors. Room availability permitting, occupancy of more than one room per family may be an option.

To make a reservation, or for more information, call 800.554.5448.

  • Full kitchen

  • Free internet access

  • Convenient location (located on the same grounds as patient apartments and a five minute drive to the clinic)
